The Halliday Foundation Children’s Thrive Project

Studies have shown that Overall COVID-19 and the associated restrictions have had a negative impact on children and their families. Crucially, this effect has been more severe for some families that were already experiencing challenging circumstances and the recent cost of living increases and benefit changes has plunged many further into financial hardships. Figures from 2020 show that 36000 children in Glasgow were living in relative poverty however it is estimated that this may now be closer to 50000. There is a deep concern about the impact this has on children’s physical and mental health, well being and development.

The Halliday Foundation Children’s Thrive Project has been funded by the Scottish Childrens Lottery and (Clyde 1 cash for kids?) Morrisons Community Team and The Halliday Foundation.

The Halliday Foundation Childrens Thrive Project was developed by early years professionals to support the needs of children living in these adverse conditions by providing the following:

We work with local nurseries and children’s health professionals to identify and deliver services directly to families in need.

Healthy Routines

This pack was designed to support families create healthy routines for children. The resources to support independence, hygiene, social interactions, literacy and encourage healthy sleep patterns.
